Inspiration comes and go.

Why do I say that? Everytime when I am or when I feel I am on a sloppy road, I need something to pull me up or to have a voice in my head telling me to keep going.

Inner Voice: Recently I feel I am losing my grip. Grip as an freshman in the E business. I no longer know how to deal properly with the people-you-know-the-fact-that-they-are-taking-advantage-of-you-because-they-know-you-are-new-and-does-not-have-a-voice-in-reaching-out. Honestly saying, I have no guts in ‘battling’ for my own rights as a newbie to nail the price that I wanted. In to doing that, I have a bad habit of consideration as to that devil inner voice of mind who kept hunting me down and stealing most of my sleepless night away ” Oh no, will you be able to cope with the actors, how are you going to do to create a good chemistry, will they be easy to work with, how is the team going to be, would it be hard working with the fresh environment with them… So on so forth.

I just think I very much have a problem with ” Adapting ” in new-freshly-raw-naked environment. Or terms for animals, they call it ” Habitat “.

Well, believe it or not, I googled ” Animal that adapts to its environment “. And there it is, ‘ How a Zebra adapts in its environment? – Answer: The zebra has adapted to its environment in a few ways. First, it developed special teeth to chew the tough grass on the savannah. Then, they developed stripes to help them blend in with the tall grasses so that predators don’t see them well.

Doesn’t that sounds exactly like how we, the human race adapts to it’s environments at times? ” Human in Disguise” MAYBE?

For an example:

You are in a higher class crowd Starbucks & you start to be more conscious of yourself than usual, rather than if you sit in a working-class peck of friends where you just lift your legs up instead of crossing your legs as if you are very much a “ladylike” person.

Point?

- My point is that, no matter where you are, no matter what language you speak, no matter which mamak you order your food from, you tend to ‘geleng’ your head like an indian too. DO YOU ACTUALLY REALIZED YOU ARE DOING THINGS YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF??

Well,

I do. I admit, sometimes I am very self-conscious. Especially you find absolute no interest or subject you can exchange to with a new group of friends (or habitat I may call it).

#TrueStory# I had a my newly met fellow actor asked me a question which made me very much uncomfortable & I just didn’t talk to him at all and it made me “as if” I am the one who is rude. He said: ” Cina main bising tak?” (That just means does Chinese make noises when are fucking?)

Now. You tell me. Should I try to adapt & play along and say something dirty which is something absolutely-unlikely-me?

ANYWAYYYYY.

That was whole of ONE situation I faced. I can’t be over-revealing in things under the carpets Or you may say things that audience certainly do not/not interested to know about except what a great show the actors brought on stage rather than a technical errors that bothered the stage manager to call her cue.

AS I WAS SAYINGGGGG.

It’s things like this that kept me soul-search for. The internet, readings or the Social Networks keeps me sane from my nightmares.

1) If you remember him, he is the Marlon Brando whom brought Stanley Kowalski to live in  A Streetcar Named Desire,  and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for that role.

2) Brando potrayed as Superman’s father in the first ever 1978 film Superman. In this role, he demanded for a large sum of pay to only play a small part & that he would not have to read the script beforehand and his lines would be displayed somewhere off-camera. And they paid him 3.7million for just two weeks of work.

And of course, The Godfather character he played. The only actor that I know who mumbles his lines!

Johnny Depp.

According to the trustable sources, Johnny Depp can’t exactly memorized the exact lines in his script. But he has a point when a reporter asked him if director Tim Burton was okay with him improv in his movies for his characters & he said:

” I always like doing that. I think that it’s important for an actor to understand that nothing is set in stone and you don’t really know what’s going to happen until you’re on the set. More important, you don’t really know what’s going to happen until the camera starts rolling. You leave a lot of things open for the possibility of chance. Mistakes, accidents, things like that.”

There you go. A God of Improv.

 How many actors can actually do that & still be able to carry & NOT betray their character’s originality in a screenplay?! Answer: The Johnny Depp.

#1:  Sidi Oraza

Sidi Oraza is no longer active in the E business. He has won the best actor for Sayang Salmah along with best supporting actress Fauziah Nawi, another best actress you should know in this line. *if not, slap*

How does he deliver his character well despite knowing each and every lines of his?

Answer: He puts only key words on the props he uses & still be able to deliver his character as it should be. Brilliant? Oh YEAH.

NEXTTTTT:

A living inspirational chef in Langkawi. No matter where you go, who you talk to, I really think you can find some good voices for advices. (Sometimes even your loved ones you refuse to listen, but a stranger’s words works sometimes).

This is a chef who cuts his own food-deco he showered me with some interesting thoughts.

Master Chef:  You see this? This is just a normal knife like those knives at your home kitchen right?

Me: Yeap. And?

And this is the outcome. First he soaked the carrot in a bowl of salt water, he said it’s to softened it.

There. A closer look. Can you believe it?!!

I quote he said: ” It does not matter what knife or what tools you use, it the outcome that matters. “

AND he is true about it! It’s as similar to it doesn’t matter how you perceive in front of the camera, nor the audience needs to know what came through their frames, it’s what you played/potrayed on screen that draws their attention & if they got drawn, it certainly means, ‘ You have succeed mate ‘.

I see that it applies to life as well, no matter what situation you are caught in, learn to adapt to it. You don’t know yet if you might adapt to the situation.
